Welcome to Arcadia
Hi, I'm Sarah, the owner of Arcadia Holistic Learning. I'm excited to welcome you!

I've been working as a high school teacher for the last 15 years, and in that time I've seen lots of students who find our traditional learning systems really difficult to navigate, and who are very disconnected from their school and teachers. Our society has also shifted, and our children are learning differently from how they have in the past, however our education system is struggling to keep up with these changes.

I have also long advocated for the power of animals to inspire and build connection as we learn. About 8 years ago I embarked on the challenge of introducing a wellbeing dog program into the school I was working in at the time, with a focus not only on wellbeing but also literacy support. Even though I am no longer at that school, the program continues to be hugely successful and is making a big difference for the engagement of students in that school. I've since introduced similar programs into two more schools, and supported other schools in launching their own programs.

More recently, I've seen first hand the amazing power of horses to nurture, build connection and support calm. As I delved more deeply into the equine-assisted learning space, I knew that this was an opportunity more children and young people needed to have. In their fast-paced world, there can be no underestimating the power of time just to 'be'.

As the idea for Arcadia Holistic Learning began to take shape, there was one focus that remained central: Most important to me is that children and young people love the process of learning, the joy of discovering something new, the thrill of mastering a new skill. For many young people, that love isn't coming from the classroom.
We hope our paddocks in the beautiful bush of the Perth Hills, and with our wonderful herd, can be that space for you or your family member.
Nurturing a love of learning...about ourselves, others and the world around us.
Our Herd
At Arcadia, we have a very special herd waiting to welcome and nurture you.
